About Us

Labbox exists to help children move from consuming technology to creating it.

We design a growing library of electronic building blocks that empower kids to understand the science behind everyday technology - circuits, sensors, motors, logic - and turn it into something they can actually build, test, and play with.

Each block has a purpose. Each connection teaches a real concept. And every circuit becomes a new discovery.

Our Roots

From classroom to creation

Founded by Arta Shehu and Fiona Shehu and the team behind jCoders Academy, Labbox was born from years of teaching thousands of children how technology works.

We saw one consistent truth: kids learn best when they build with their hands, break things safely, try again, and see real outcomes. So we set out to create a tool that makes that kind of learning possible everywhere, homes, classrooms, and makerspaces.

Kids are growing up in a world powered by invisible technology. Yet most STEM tools either oversimplify the science or hide it behind apps and screens. We believe children deserve to understand the real forces powering their world.

That’s why Labbox blocks show polarity, include feedback indicators for mistakes, and use magnetic connectors that make circuit-building intuitive. Kids learn through experimentation, not instructions, and they gain confidence by making things work with their own hands.

Our Story

Labbox began inside the classrooms of jCoders Academy, where we spent years watching children light up, literally and figuratively, when a circuit worked. We saw curiosity, ownership, frustration, resilience, and joy. We saw kids who believed electronics were “too hard” suddenly build alarms, robots, games, and inventions.

We wanted that spark to exist far beyond our classrooms. So we built Labbox: a system where blocks snap together, concepts make sense, and kids discover the power of engineering through play.
